What Is Therapeutic Coaching?

Have you ever found yourself thinking, "I know what I should be doing... I just can't seem to do it?"

Perhaps you're exhausted by thinking about food all day, making promises to yourself that don't last, or wondering why change feels so much harder than it should.

Therapeutic coaching combines compassionate exploration with practical action. Together, we'll create a safe space to understand the thoughts, emotions and patterns that are influencing your relationship with food, while also identifying gentle, realistic goals that help you move forwards.

Rather than setting rigid targets or following another programme, we'll agree on meaningful steps that feel achievable for you. Some weeks that might involve trying something new around food, practising a different way of responding to difficult emotions, or simply noticing patterns with greater curiosity. The aim isn't perfection - it's progress that feels sustainable.

Our work is collaborative and personalised. We'll regularly reflect on what's working, adapt where needed, and build your confidence one step at a time, helping you create lasting change that fits your life.

Please note: Coaching is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment. If you have an active eating disorder or require specialist medical care, coaching works best alongside the appropriate healthcare professionals.

If you’re feeling unsure

Taking the first step can feel overwhelming, especially if you've spent years feeling stuck in the same patterns.

My hope is to create a space where, over time, you feel able to explore where you are now, where you'd like to be and what's been getting in the way of the changes you want to make.

Together, we'll make sense of what's been keeping you stuck and begin creating an approach that feels realistic, compassionate and uniquely yours.

How We'll Work Together

Every woman arrives with a different story, and has different goals, which is why there isn't a programme for you to follow or a set route you have to take.

We'll begin by exploring where you are now, what's keeping you stuck, and what you would like life to look and feel like instead. From there, we'll work together to build understanding, develop practical strategies and agree on realistic goals that help you move towards the changes that matter most to you.

For many women, the greatest benefit comes from committing to regular sessions. Change takes time, and having a consistent space to reflect, experiment, learn and adjust allows new habits and ways of thinking to develop gradually.

I offer:

  • A 2-Hour Deep Dive – ideal if you're looking for clarity around what's keeping you stuck or want to explore a specific challenge in depth.

  • A 6-Week Coaching Programme – designed to help you build understanding, create momentum and begin making meaningful, sustainable changes.

  • A 12-Week Coaching Programme – for women who would benefit from longer-term support as they strengthen new habits, build self-trust and create lasting change.

  • Individual Sessions – available for those who would prefer ad hoc support or who have completed a coaching programme and would like occasional check-ins.

Coaching sessions are available online via secure video call or in person from my private coaching space in Kent.

Between sessions you'll have the opportunity to reflect on what we've discussed and, where appropriate, experiment with small, achievable actions that support your goals. We'll review these together, celebrate what's working and adapt anything that isn't.

What to Expect

If you choose one of my programes we will meet weekly, as from experience this is where the most profound results happen, although we'll always agree on a pace that feels right for you and your circumstances.

Between sessions, I'll encourage you to reflect on what we've explored and, where appropriate, put small, realistic actions into practice. After each session, you'll receive a personalised written summary of our conversation, together with any agreed strategies, resources or next steps, so you can focus on making progress rather than trying to remember everything we've discussed.

If you're working with me over a number of sessions, you'll also have email support between appointments for questions or brief check-ins during normal working hours. While I aim to respond as promptly as I can, this isn't intended to replace emergency or crisis support.

Every aspect of our work together is designed to support you - not overwhelm you. If something isn't working, we'll adapt it. My aim is to create an approach that genuinely fits your life, rather than expecting your life to fit the coaching.

Katie's warmth should not be mistaken for a lack of challenge. She created a space where I felt completely supported while helping me uncover what was really holding me back. By the end, I felt clearer, more confident and, for the first time in years, had a realistic plan that made lasting change feel genuinely possible.
